This service, also sometimes referred to as an “editorial assessment,” will consider your book for its content such as characterization, plot, and style. I will act as an expert reader to confirm that your work is on the right track and provide you with suggestions for improvement on the work’s content before you begin getting that draft ready for publication or submission. I also offer consultation calls after the assessment so we can continue the brainstorming.

Looking for a more detailed edit with suggestions for improvement that consider the whole piece of work and other elements such as characterization, plot points, and flow with some rewrite suggestions? I can provide you with a detailed edit that includes all these elements plus proofreading and an overall assessment on your manuscript.

Generally, I bill at a per word rate that varies depending on the level of edits needed (between 0.01-0.015 CAD per word). I’m also happy to work with students and first-time authors on a discounted, project-based rate.
