This week will be all about making my way through This week will be all about making my way through this new pile of manga! @thunderstruckbookstore always amazes me with their amazing selection and with a great Boxing Day sale, I couldn’t help but pick up more than a few new titles 🤭. I hope everyone had a lovely holiday season and is enjoying this (hopefully) quiet period of rest before the new year.

Tell me you’re a librarian without telling me yo Tell me you’re a librarian without telling me you’re a librarian… my tell is that I take pictures in front of beautiful libraries 😅. I can’t help it, there’s something so magical about a place where knowledge is openly available!

This is from my trip to New York earlier this year to celebrate my birthday. It was two months ago but somehow feels as if it was yesterday. The end of the year always has me in a reflective mood and wanting to share old photos so you’ll probably see similar sentiments across my feed for a while.

For those who love libraries as much as I do, is there another beautiful library I should add to my list?

I started working on my best books of 2022 post (e I started working on my best books of 2022 post (early, I know!) and I realized that my reading tastes have changed recently. I always used to say that non-fiction would instantly turn me away from a book but now, I’ve read quite a few of them this year and some have turned out to be favourites! I’ve also read a few finance books (another genre I’d typically avoid) and have found them to be useful. I’m now even more excited to share some of these books with you, just to see if anyone else has read and loved the same books as me.

My question for you in the meantime… have you noticed that your reading habits change over time? Or are you still a devout reader of a specific genre? I’d love to hear about your recent reading moods!

I always come back from a vacation having visited I always come back from a vacation having visited more bookstores and libraries than I can count. This bookstore in particular, Book Culture, was extremely well-organized and lovely! They had the cutest merch and I couldn’t resist acquiring a tote bag (as if I need more) and then immediately posing with it. They also had some great deals, I was able to find a book that’s been on my list for a while for only $8! This store is definitely going on my list of recommendations for New York City!

I always joke that I’m the world’s weirdest En I always joke that I’m the world’s weirdest English major as I generally dislike classics 😱. Frankenstein is an exception for me and it’s one of few classics I enjoyed! I had to share this version of the book from Barnes & Noble, isn’t it stunning?!

Since I’ve admitted one of my bookish sins (I’m so sorry classics fans 😭), what is one book or genre you can’t seem to get into? Or better yet, is there a classic you think will change my mind? 👀

From the very first point of communication, she was kind, professional, and I felt very comfortable sharing my work with her. The edits and suggestions that Shelly gave were excellent, and I now feel so much more confident submitting my work to a publisher. Thank you so much!” A black line at the bottom of the image contains the creator’s website, www.shellyzev.com].
